Spiral CT Angiogram of the neck has become the standard method of evaluation to see the relationship of the tumor with the carotid bifurcation and structures in the neck. This tumor is extending far deeper in to the neck under the mandible as seen in the figure. It is important note that distal control of the internal carotid artery is difficult in such cases. Preoperative embolization to reduce the vascularity and special measures may be required to reach the distal end of the internal carotid artery during the excision surgery.
